‘Frame’ is the outcome of a collaboration between Jennifer and Derek Welsh, a Glasgow based woodworker and designer
Although working in different specialisms the two designers share an interest in graphics, fashion and art and strive to make beautiful items to wear, use and enjoy.
The ‘Frame’ pattern was inspired by a 2D diagram of a timber roof construction and was developed through working together on ideas, sketches, collages and discussions.
The geometric nature of the roof detail was well suited to the creation of a repeat pattern which was then translated into a knitted fabric. The final pieces - a throw and a scarf - reflect the thoughtful research and design process which is so important to both Jennifer and Derek.
